William Golding is one of the famous writers. William Golding was born in

Saint Cornwall (England) and he was graduated in Marlborough school

and after that he went to Oxford University. Then he studied literature

for two years there. His father was a school master. His first novel "Lord

of the flies" was published in 1954. He got married to Ann Brook field and

had two kids. During the World War 2, he served his five years in the

British Royal Navy. After the war he started to write stories and these stories got published. Golding became

famous for his stories. Some of his famous books are:  Lord of the flies, The Paper Men, Fire down below and The

Pyramid and Fire down below. He also won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1983. He passed away in 1993 in his

home in England. After his death his story The Double Tongue was published in 1995.

History of "Lord of the Flies":     Lord of the flies was the one of his famous novel and it

was published in 1954. Two movies were made based on his novel in 1963 and 1990. I think that this story is a

really good example for the teen who wants to rule the society. They don’t really care even if they kill someone.

This novel is about a group of guys who got stuck in a island and no one was there to help them. This novel was

composed after World War 2.

      Chapter 1

A plane that crashed in a jungle on a deserted island and the surviving boys lost each other and cannot find the

pilot. I like how piggy told Ralph about the conch and he uses that pink conch to find the other guys. I don't really

like when jack had fight with Ralph about the group leader and they make fun of piggy's name. I feel really sorry

about Piggy because he was an orphan and was living with his aunt before the plane crashed.

    Chapter 2

In chapter two I like the Ralph's idea of building a large signal fire on top of the island’s central mountain, so

that any passing ships might see the fire and know that someone is trapped on the island. Everybody loved his

idea and the boys rush off to the mountain.  I like the Piggy's idea when he tells other guys to use the lens of the

glasses to start the fire. The group of kids chose Ralph their leader. When they went back to the beach then

suddenly piggy noticed that the small kid was missing.

Chapter 3

In chapter 3 Ralph and Simon bullied huts for the younger boys to live. Ralph is irritated because the huts keep

falling down before they completed. Some of the boys went hunting. I would've helped  those kids who's having problem

from their lives because I value of life. I really like the idea of Ralph deciding to make the fire so that if a boat or a ship

comes by they  will see the smoke and rescues them.

Chapter 4
in this chapter it was a nice day on the island. They lived a perfect life on the island, but their nights got pretty

frightened and difficult and the other problem was about the food. They all were eating only dirty fruits which

caused them diarrhea. This made me feel very sorry for the children as they had to live in conditions that were

not liveable. On the beach, Ralph and Piggy saw a ship, but the signal fire was out, so they were no able to notice

them on the stranded island. They hurried to the top of the hill, but it was too late to relight the flame. Ralph was

furious with Jack, because it was the hunters’ responsibility to see that the fire was maintained. I don't like when

Jack slapped Piggy and broke one of his lenses when he was complaining about the hunter’s immaturity.  Later on

Jack admitted his mistake and he didn't even bother to apologize to Piggy.

Chapter 5

in chapter 5  a  lot of the children were no longer working on the island because they were not sure about their

survival  Most of them were refusing to work, they didn't  gathered drinking water, they neglected the signal fire,

and they didn't even use the toilet area. That's why Ralph gathered all the boys on the island for the discussion.

He was telling them that they have to be serious or they will never find there way out. The littluns on the island

were especially frightened because of the nightmares they were having. Ralph said there are no monsters on the

island. Jack maintained that there is no beast. One of the littluns speaks up and claims that he has actually seen a

beast and they started to wondering that where does that beast go during the day and night time. At this point, I

felt very unsure about the children's survival. The thought alone of beasts being on the island among these

children was very scary.

Chapter 6

In this chapter all the boys were sleeping and the military planes were fighting. The twins saw there was a

parachute coming down to the island and they told everybody about it. I think that is so stupid that Ralph and

Jack were trying to find the ghosts even though they didn't have any evidences about the ghosts.

Chapter 7

A lot of changes happened in this chapter. The kids had no food, but they don't want to eat anymore fruits because they

were sick of them. Other than that it was bit scary and unhealthy for the kids. When they went for a hunt, they planned to

hunt and a pig it escaped from them which made Ralph get more wilder and hungry for meat.

Chapter 8

In chapter 8 I don’t like when jack left the group of boys on island and trying to make his own group. Simon

goes to see his secret meadow and he found a sows head on the stick which was filled with the flies and the

head start to talk to him and it was so weird. I like Piggy’s idea when he suggested building another sign for

the help and they build a new fire on the beach.

Chapter 9

In this chapter Simon sees a dead pilot with his parachute and the parachute was rising and falling with the

wind. I don’t like when Jack was acting like he was a king and everybody are his servants. When all the boys

were enjoying the rain they saw a shadow out of the forest. It was Simon but they didn’t recognise him and

they killed him by mistake.

Chapter 10

Ralph and Piggy were trying to hide the truth about the last night they both feel very ashamed but it was a

murder. I feel bad for Piggy because he can’t see without his glasses. He cared about the Ralph but Ralph was

mean to him. I don’t like Jack when he was trying to be bossy on his group. He was punishing boys for no

reason.

Chapter 11

In chapter 11 Jack told Ralph and Piggy to leave his camp. Ralph demanded that Piggy needs his glasses

back but the boys start fighting and Jack killed Piggy. Piggy was such a nice guy. I feel reaaly bad for Ralph

because he was alone now without Piggy and it was hard for him to survive.

Chapter 12

In the last chapter Ralph was alone and he hid in the jungle. Jack was so bossy and cruel i don’t like when he

was torturing one of the twins to find the Ralph. When Ralph was trying to kill himself he saw a officer
standing over him. II think that this story is a really good example for the teen who wants to rule the society. They don’t really care even if they kill someone.
